Althea Awaits Her Ca 125 Report
Painting - Acrylic Mixed Water Media
Most of my work is designed to educate, give hope, inspire, or encourage women or men, especially survivors of cancer, heart disease, or any other potentially life threatening diseases or accidents. The majority of my paintings are included in the two books Ive written (will available through Amazon by the end of the year). The first Althea Re-Balances her Life: the emotional challenges one survivor faces after chemo for ovarian cancer is a memoir of the first two years of my survival of ovarian cancer. The second Dancing Joyfully, With or Without NED: Using Art in a Blueprint for Surviving Ovarian Cancer shares the plans and decisions one must make for living a life perhaps with cancer always on the horizon. Consequently, most of my work uses bright colors, bling, and sometimes irreverent subject matter in an attempt to make people smile, laugh or say I think she has gotten it. Consequently, my work is meant to heal. This painting is of Althea hanging by her fingertips while she waits for a test result.
