Beverley Harper Tinsley
Painting - Watercolor And Graphite
A full moon, or perhaps another planet hovers in the sky above a distant mountain range, scene of pristine wilderness, in vibrant crimson and violet, an imaginary land, seemingly untouched by humans.
I set out to paint a mountainous nature scene, in unusual, possibly sunset like, colors, with a full moon, but something changed within me during the process. Overtaken by a longing, I guess, for something further, cleaner, less busy, so distant, full of hope, unknowable, a place I might visit in a dream, a place of warm colors and cool clarity. Some place a little otherworldly. Earth or somewhere else, I guess the viewer will have to decide.
When it is obvious to me that a particular artist has served as an influence for a painting of mine, I try to give credit. In this case, The artists Ted Trujillo (who I knew for many years, but with whom I am no longer in touch) and Bobby Bales, his brother, have had an impact that is visible in this piece. Below is contact information, for those who would like to explore their work.
