Description
Ammonites are an extinct group of invertebrate animals that lived in the oceans. The shells of these animals resemble coiled ram's horns. Hence the name ammonite, which is derived from the Egyptian god Ammon, who was depicted wearing ram's horns. The texture of this mixed media piece was created by layering section by section to create the shape of a shell.
