Photograph - Photograph
An Anti-Irish cartoon entitled IRISH INDUSTRIES, appeared in the American humor magazine PUCK in November 1881. Drawn by master cartoonist Frederick Opper (1857-1937), it shows Irish men bomb-making anarchists, murdering landlords, voting, and panhandling. Anti-Irish racism was commonly expressed in mainstream publications in 19th century United States.
