Description:
This painting is an offshoot of the style I am developing with my ongoing “Lounge” series, featuring the female figure in repose. My figurative style has always been influenced by Art Nouveau and the work of Lichtenstein, as well as childhood coloring books. I have retained the basic elements of my figurative style in this series: flat planes of color, neutral figures, and sharp contrast, and have added interesting elements to the figure. Two-tone block shading of the flesh creates a sense of depth and contour. The subtle shades of pink lips add color and life to my previously neutral palette. These pieces are bold and modern, yet classic. I welcome commissions for similar pieces.
This piece is 26" tall and 16" wide. The gallery-wrapped canvas is 1 1/2 inches thick with painted sides and ready-to-hang. The painting is made from archival materials and clear-coated with an artist-grade gloss to protect your investment for years to come.
