Arc De Triomphe - A Paris Landmark
Photograph - Photo Art
Textured photo art from the end of a beautiful day in Paris. I would love the opportunity to further photograph the landmark, Arc de Triomphe in Paris some day. And challenge is the proper word.
At the end of the famous Champs Elysees, Napoleon's Triumphal Arch sits in a sea of traffic. There was a constant stream of cars and trucks and such flowing around this massive monument to French patriotism.
I quickly understood why so many photos I've seen of the Arc de Triomphe are long exposure photos allowing the cars to melt into a stream of captured motion rather than individual vehicles. I had been on my feet all day, though and wasn't read to set up camp. I knew when I clicked the shutter that this photo was going to be textured, my own method of downplaying the elements that mattered least to me and putting an emphasis on that beautiful architecture.
The result is somewhat painterly and really encapsulates the feeling of a beautiful sunset on a winter afternoon in Paris.
