Description
Arching Nude beautifully portrays the essence of dynamic balance. She is delicately poised on her shins and arching back into space, as if being pushed over by an immense, invisible force. Under this tremendous pressure, she is in the process of bending but not breaking.
Like much of Lisbeth Sabol's work, Arching Nude is a dynamic piece, the figure is suspended in space, challenging the bonds of gravity. Inviting touch, Arching Nude is designed to be experienced as a handheld, tactile sculpture, as an object existing in our own realm. Autobiographical in nature, the work simultaneously embraces the dichotomy of joy and struggle, expressively exploring the complex interior landscape of a woman's heart.
Arching Nude can be displayed balancing on her shins as shown (without the use of a base), mounted on a base, wall-mounted with a bracket, or hanging freely in space using a monofilament line.
Lisbeth Sabol's exquisite sculptures are cast using the lost wax method of bronze-casting to capture the intricate detail of each piece. Hand-applied patinas add subtle color variation.
Arching Nude is cast in solid bronze and available in an artist limited edition of 100.
Each limited edition bronze is signed and numbered by the artist.
