Arial View Of Calgary Facing North East
Calgary is such a beautiful city. The only skyscrapers in Calgary are located downtown, giving it a very unique feel. The too blue Alberta skies add a wonderful backdrop to the city that seems to go on forever.
This shot is taken with a wide angle lens from the Calgary Tower. Some key landmarks you can see include the Glenbow Museum, the Performing Art Centre, and the building that looks like an upside down pyramid is City Hall. You can see the Bow river snaking along behind the buildings.
As I write this, Calgary is just recovering from a massive flood where the Bow and Elbow rivers both overflowed and downtown was under a significant amount of water. Clean up has begun and soon I am sure it will be restored to this beauty.
