Painting - Watercolor/watercolor Pencil
"Army Soup" technically is one of my better paintings to date. The midshipmen forming background are totally impressionistic, the astroturf in the foreground more realistic. The painting is humorous on a number of levels. Goats don't eat tin cans (just the paper on them) and Campbells's soup is such a Philadelphia thing; the site of the Army/Navy Game and the label on the can reads Army Soup. The Navy Goatseems bored with the whole thing, though very regal in his outfit. It also is the kind of prank the midshipmen would play and actually get away with it. This was my first painting for Gallery Belaria.
