Description:

This is a detail from a larger painting of the same title. Artemis is a lunar goddess, but here Ive included the sun because Apollo (sun) is her twin brother. I've depicted them together as a way of representing balance of male and female qualities and universal forces. This painting is filled with symbols, too many for mentioning here. For example, the hourglass over her heart symbolizes 'So above, so below'.
