Description:

I am very fortunate to know (virtually speaking) many talented artists that span the array of media and techniques. There are a handful of polymer clay artists whose work I am in awe of. One of these artists is Jael from Champaign, Illinois. The focal bead used in this necklace… actually, this necklace was CREATED by the focal bead… couldn't be more perfect as an example of something I adore, design-wise.

Created with:

Polymer Clay (Just under 1½ inches wide; design on both sides): Designs made by manipulating different colored clay-like polymers (these designs are not painted on); the beads are then baked, sanded, and polished.

Borosilicate "Boro" Lampwork Glass Beads: Boro lampwork beads are made the same way as regular lampwork, but with a much harder glass (like Pyrex), making the item harder to work with at times, and using a much higher heat, but creating some of the most amazing glass beads I've ever seen. Yes, I'm a huge fan of boro. (The smaller glass beads are also lampwork, but made with soft glass, like Moretti.)

Bali Silver (.925): Hand-decorated sterling beads crafted by Balinese silversmith artisans. It has taken me a few years of research and trial and error, but I have finally found a few suppliers of the absolute BEST quality Bali silver ever. Look around, compare for yourself… Then look at the beads in Laura Bracken jewelry. When I say "The Difference is in the Details", it could almost solely refer to the Bali beads I use; they are phenomenal, put together with meticulous care, never sloppy or gunky… they are true miniature works of art and I couldn't be more proud to work with these fine silversmith artisan families.

Other Glass: Seed beads.

Sterling Silver: All our silver jewelry pieces are sterling or higher (Hill Tribe Silver is pure silver, higher silver content than sterling), including all accents and findings. We never used plated or any of the lower quality or fake silvers (German Silver, Silver Fill, Nickel Silver, Alpaca Silver, etc).

The size of the necklace is about 20 inches (interior). The dangles hang about 7 inches in length, measured from where they start, not from the focal bead.

Our one-of-a-kind designs are not repeated.
