Description
I loved the way the evening sunlight penetrated the aspen forest canopy. The soft, warm light seemed to turn even warmer under the cover of the bright yellow leaves and yet some cooler light still appears down below on the tree trunks. To me, this combination made for a wonderful fall-time scene on the Last Dollar Road near Telluride, Colorado.
As I've grown to love the San Juan Mountains of Colorado at any time of year, there's something magnetic about them in the fall when the colors start to come alive. Of course, this scene doesn't capture any of the mountainous terrain, but it does capture the beauty of the golden glowing forest. In general, the area around the Last Dollar Road between Ridgway and Telluride has some terrain that I find highly inspiring and this is no exception. For painters and photographers alike, it's been a favorite Colorado destination for years.
