Thank you for featuring Autumn Crown in the Best Artwork Collections group!

Thanks, Mimulux! I agree wholeheartedly. Winter is pretty miserable most places. Seems that only where there is snow is it really beautiful. Autumn is my favourite, though, but it definitely is a season that is having its last hurrah. That is the feeling of this picture, which reminded my friend of the story of Ozimandius.

Thank you so much for your comments, Florin! Autumn is the late middle age of the seasons, when even crowns and kings fall, losing their splendor as winter approaches. Like the bright autumn leaves, we start to see the crowns of life as 'paper' which crumbles on the ground eventually. : )

A very fitting motif in every sense, the little green leaf plays an important role! V/F, DFSG

Thanks so much for your comments, Heather. Autumn is my favourite season also. The crown is a symbol... and every maple leaf could be that crown.. it only takes a little imagination, when you look at piles of tiny rust leaves and some brilliant spiky ones sticking out.

Autumn is my favorite season. I love the vibrant shades of orange in this one, the glow as embers! The green line work works wonderfully as a middle ground to balance the colors and move the eye around within the painting.
