Thanks so much. I originally painted this looking out my sliding glass doors with a more realistic approach, but I said,"Self--that is too boring" So I abstracted the colors in each shape and that has gotten me on the road to abstracting the colors and shapes in many of my present paintings, especially those I do in plein air.

I know how that feels. I begin with a stylistic idea and then TRY TOO HARD to FIX what I am creating. The abstract is a gateway to the best of what we intutively know.
