Bacteriophage T4 Virus Group 2
Bacteriophage T4 virus group 2. T4 bacteriophage viruses attacking an E. coli a bacterial cell. The viruses land on the bacterial surface and inject their DNA into the interior of the bacterium. The term "phage" referes to the fact that they "eat" the bacteria. T4 is the most complicated virus. It has a highly developed landing gear that docks with the bacterial surface and triggers the DNA injection through the contractile tail.
