Description
Rural coastal Maine hasn't had it easy in recent years, as farmers with roots that go back for generations find they can no longer make the rocky soil and short growing season compete with "factory farms" hundreds and even thousands of miles away. Here's an old, abandoned farmhouse surrounded by woods that have moved back in where hard-working families once worked fields and orchards, near the Bagaduce River. I was attracted by the textures of the old wooden walls, the lifting roof shingles, the crumbling chimney mortar, and -- above all -- the incredible light that this part of Maine is blessed with. If you purchase an "on-demand" print here at Fine Art America, I encourage you to select an "arctic white/black core mat, along with an arctic white additional bottom mat with a 1/4-inch reveal. Also, I suggest you choose premier archival matte paper or cool tone picture rag for the best reproduction of this work. I think you will find that this mat and paper combination, along with any frame you select, will make the work stand out quite elegantly. In addition to these "on-demand" prints, I also offer originals and limited-edition prints in archival inks on the same kind of paper as the original work, numbered to a limit of 250 and individually signed by me. Please email me at jim@jimnormanart.com if you are interested in this. Thanks for stopping by at Fine Art America to look at my work.
