While it looks like it could be, this isn't a beach where I live in Canada: this one is on the Flemish coast in West Flanders, Belgium, in a resort city called Oostende.
Oostende has been a port city since the 13th century, and this fine, sandy (long) beach has been the location for several well-known modern films.
It is also a great place to get an ice cream cone :))
