Description
I felt a pull in the direction of the well, not knowing at the time what it was. This is the St Joseph Well, within the walls of the Lady Chapel in Glastonbury Abbey, the well is said to pre-date the chapel, the belief being that the chapel was built there because of the well. On the day I snapped this shot, there was no discolouration to the naked eye, no shadow, nothing out of the normal, I knew immediately there was something different about this place, believed to be a healing well, going back to Roman, or possibly even medieval times. I sent an email to the custodian of the Abbey, asking for his opinion, he was interested and said that he'd never seen anything like this before (and he'd seen many pictures of the well!) it has not been doctored in any way and a sensitive person can in fact 'feel' the energy emanating from the well just by moving a hand across it.

Thank you for your comments Vicki and you would 'love' Glastonbury! it's such an amazing place, all that myth and legend :-) but mostlly, it's the energy there, when I visited the Tor for the very first time, I could 'feel' this column of energy emanating from the ground upward, it felt like a 'wall' of energy, I've never felt anything like it before or since! We're lucky in that we live close enough to revisit as often as we want, I'm hoping for a new camera this year and then there'll be no stopping me haha :-) seriously Vicki, it is 'well worth it!' and do visit the Chalice Well Peace Gardens too! and the George and Pilgrim Hotel goes back hundreds of years! there are even tunnels running beneath Glastonbury it is said, between the George and Pilgrim and the Abbey! (the Abbey is obvious of course) lol

Thank you Felix :-) with this one it was more about the 'feeling' I knew there was something special about this place before I even knew what it was! If you ever get to visit Glastonbury Abbey, be sure to see the St Joseph Well, The energy there and inside of the Tor itself is ..... unimaginable! you'd love it!

Thank you Beth! Glastonbury is steeped in history, it's like you move back in time, you can imagine King Arthur and the knights, I'm very lucky to live near enough to visit, King Arthur's grave is in the grounds of the abbey, but it's rumoured that his body was removed and placed elsewhere for safety, I was strongly drawn to the Undercroft, I think there is something of importance there, but not sure what, the energy was very strong. Take care Beth!
