Painting - Digital Oil Painting
A sweet young beagle lies in a field of green grass and dandelions. This digital painting by Jacqueline Barden (2014) portends the happy day when these gentle souls will no longer be forced to live in small cages and used for testing of cosmetics and household products. More than 65,000 dogs, nearly all of them beagles, currently are used in animal research. Beagles are chosen because they are so gentle. These dogs lead miserable existences and most will never know love or feel grass underfoot. When the companies are done with them they will be euthanized. If you care for them, please make the conscious choice to buy only cruelty-free products, and support the Beagle Freedom Project, a nonprofit working tirelessly to ensure that animals used in testing will get a chance at a real life once their abuse is over.
