Beggar In The Ghetto
Drawing - Brown Charcoal Chalk And India Ink On Paper
This is an original signed work drawing in Mixed Media - India ink and Brown Charcoal Chalk - on Paper. "I have always felt that even the most pathetic and tragic of God's creations have beauty. This beggar was the frontispiece for my exhibit 'The Women of Jerusalem'. It is a strong character portrayal which cuts to one of the basic questions of existence: why people suffer. This portrait was done in mixed media: Sepia ink and brown charcoal on paper. It has always been one of my favorites."
This is an original work signed at lower right in English and in Hebrew, by noted Israeli artist ESTHER NEWMAN-COHEN (1948-). Shipped unframed. Can be shipped worldwide (insurance).
