I saw these shorebirds (American Oystercatchers, Marbled Godwits, Short-billed Dowitchers and maybe a Dunlin or two) at the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area (North Carolina) on January 22, 2015 at high tide. The Cape Fear River is in the background; just south of this spot, it empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
