Description:

Bisset Park is an impasto oil painting of a particular spot on the New River at Bisset Park. I walk by this spot almost every day. I like the way the branches of this submerged tree make a network of complicated textures and colors reflected in the water. The paint on this piece was applied in many layers and the surface is varied according to the visible brushwork which adds expression and energy to the scene.
