From Virginia down to all around Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, it is the most common form of vegetation. Dense surface roots and its deeper roots ensure the plants survival with necessary water and nutrients. As they grow to heights of six feet or more, Sea Oats play a vital role in the formation of dunes by trapping wind-blown sands causing them to mound. Towering over distant clouds from far away it was apparent they had done their job well, so now they were just taking it easy and ... Blowing In The Wind.
