Painting - Mixed Media
Two baby gators, or aligator, if you prefer, floating in deep water looking for a bug for lunch. This original began as a stone litho to create the little gator image, onto 100% smooth rag paper. Then a stencil was used to protect the area of the lithograph print. I rolled a metal plate with oil based printing ink in the desired colors. Bubble effects were created with oderless mineral spirits splattered and then lifted with another pass of a clean roller. After drying, the little gators were given a wash with thinned acrylic. Now, that I've explained this process, aren't you just all excited to try it!
It is a rewarding art medium, but it requires a printing press, drying racks and some patience, but then most art mediums require that and the desire to create.
