Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
I pimped and sold this 1950's Bob Jackson adding lots of leather including Brooks saddle and mudflaps to Pedro in Portugal, I know he's looking after it. The rampant lions on the badge are now roaming Lisbon streets. This painting depicts a hand built Reynolds 531 touring frame in silver with aluminium mudguards. I particularly enjoyed painting the heraldic badge and chain ring in the background and I wanted it to look like an enamel sign, so it has at least thirty layers of glaze giving it a super transparent depth and the sides are painted to look as if the paint has peeled and pitted, so it can be hung directly on the wall with or without a frame. It is signed front bottom right and on the back.
I am a keen cyclist, who lovingly restores bicycles and then records them for posterity by producing fine canvas's that are totally unique. All my paintings come with a Certificate of Authenticity and a written explanation and can be bought as a commemorative gift, or to celebrate an event. They can be displayed anywhere: Foyers, restaurants, galleries, shops, workshops, sports venues or in the living room
