Description
MODEL RELEASED. Bodowyr burial chamber, near Brynsiencyn, on the island of Anglesey, North Wales. This burial chamber, now located in a farmer's field, is thought to have been erected as a communal grave in the period 2000 to 4000 BC, during the Neolithic Age (part of the Stone Age). The form of the stones erected here is known as a dolmen or passage grave. It would originally have been covered with earth or stones. It was listed by the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments in 1937, and scheduled as an ancient monument by Cadw (the Welsh heritage organisation) in 1990. Photographed in July 2011.
