Description:
This is a view of the famous Brant Point Lighthouse at the entrance to Nantucket Harbor. As with many of my Nantucket pieces, I wanted to show it on an overcast day. There are a lot of Natucket images out there that emphasize sunlight and sharp shadow, but I try to capture a different feel. I think of nantucket not as a sunny place of summer tourists, but as a foggy, grey, historic place linked with the sea, a place where whaling captains once walked down damp cobbled streets.
