Breakers At Pt Reyes

Pt Reyes National Seashore. The north shore of this scenic area has some of the larger waves in the area as it is unprotected as the waves roll in off of the pacific. I really love this part of Northern California as the park is a protected wildlife refuge and a National Seashore. It is truly a treasure for the America just an hour north of San Francisco. I try to get out here a couple of times a year
This was captured during a nice warm winter day. The current at this time of year tends to pull in larger than normal waves and the fact that it was a nice warm day made this especially nice.
This was the first time I had been to this particular part of the park. It was roughly a half mile hike down to the ocean. The beach here is fairly wide depending on the tide. On this day the tide was out. In order for me to capture the curls of these waves I had to hike/climb out on a rock formation that wrapped around out about 150 feet into the ocean.
