Breath Of Spring
Digital Art - Digital Photograph
I am so happy that Spring has finally arrived and new growth is beginning to appear! It has been a long wait this year and the freshness of renewal is even more rejuvenating because of it! When the new growth of Spring arrives it generates a sense of well-being, of vitality and of health. The environment is so fresh and the smells of new blooms create such a peaceful and tranquil feeling. Spring is a season that invites contemplation and change, often awakening a sense of spirituality in us. It is also a season that reminds us of our closeness to nature, that awakens our senses and that invites us to venture out into the environment to explore the new images, foliage and blossoms! It truly is the season of rejuvenation and is one of my favorite times of the year.
I took this photograph at the Morton Arboretum located in Lisle, Illinois to the west of Chicago. It is worth a visit almost anytime of the year if you are in the area :).
Spring is one of the four conventional temperate seasons, following winter and preceding summer. There are various technical definitions of spring, but local usage of the term varies according to local climate, cultures and customs. When it is spring in the northern hemisphere, it will be autumn in the southern hemisphere. At the spring equinox, days are close to 12 hours long with day length increasing as the season progresses. Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection, and regrowth, with festivals such as Carnival, Easter and Holi being celebrated at this time.
