Bridalvail Falls Yosemite National Park
Nadine and Bob Johnston
Painting - Gift Or Note Cards Are Much Cheaper By The Dozen.
Nadine calls this painting of Bridalvail Falls, "Fire and Water" it looks like a fantasy, but is not. She painted it from a Photograph taken at sunset, where the late warm sun hits the water and mist of the falls. The colors are a bit stronger than in the Photo, but not much, and they do look like flames

Bridalveil Fall is the first waterfall you see when entering the park from the West Entrance. It is one of the most prominent waterfalls in the Yosemite Valley in California, seen millions of visitors to Yosemite National Park.
Bridalveil Fall was believed by The Ahwahneechee tribe to be home to a vengeful spirit named Pohono which guarded the entrance to the valley, hat those leaving must not look directly into the waterfall or they would be cursed. They believed inhaling the mist of Bridalveil Fall improved chances of marriage. Bridalveil Fall is best seen from Tunnel View on California State Route 41
Bridalveil Fall 617 ft high and flows year round, though the flow is heavier in the spring when snow is melting. It is believed that Glaciers carved Yosemite Valley which left hanging valleys that spawned the many waterfalls in Yosemite. Bridalveil still leaps into the valley from the edge of a cliff, although the edge has moved back into an alcove from the original edge of the valley.
When the wind blows briskly, the waterfall appears to fall sideways. During lesser water flow, the falls don't reach the ground in high winds.
You can purchase a print, any width up to 60 inches wide into fit your space.
