Pyrography - Pyrography
This piece was burned on a beautiful piece of maple burl and, yes, even though I think it's hokey, I left the natural edge on top. The drawing started out as a profile of the bulls butting heads (ala, the Red Bull logo). My method of drawing involves a lot of "chiseling". I erase, I trace, I cut and paste. Before I knew it they had swung around to their present (and final) position. It wasn't until I finished it that I realized that I'd given everyone a stark southside view of the northbound bull. Oh, well, I loved it so much that I did it twice and both pieces sold. I guess there's no accounting for what folks are willing to hang in their living room.
