Description
The US Government exploded approximately 1021 atomic weapons at the NNSS; some were on Frenchman Flat in Area 5. Test structures were built to estimate potential damage from over pressure caused by the use of nuclear weapons. In the foreground is an instrument bunker and in the background are the so-called 'motels' and a radioactive tank.
