Description:

There's an island not far from here--Burnt Island. I got to wondering about the origin of it's name. Many scenarios came to mind. Was it a fire of natural, diabolical or supernatural origin that caused the locals to name it Burnt Island? What did the Abenaki Natives call it? Then maybe it referred to a fire aboard a ship that sank, taking all aboard to a watery grave. Use your imagination!
