Description:

The watch, the butterfly, and the opal represented in the ribbon weaving through the background were all possessions of my late mother, Barbara. This was a tribute to her as these were some of her favorite things. She felt a strong connection to butterflies and they truly sought her as landing spot often. Later in life, my mother explored her love of timepieces and took an apprenticeship with a master clockmaker. Opal was her birthstone. Completed as an assignment in school, the painting is divided into 5 sections of color theory - Analogous, Triadic, Monochromatic, Complementary, and Realistic.
