Butterfly Egg Bowl
Glass Art - Glass Rainforest Remnants Newspaper
I was inspired by the six sided cells that make up a butter fly egg. I researched this form and found that it is believed to be the strongest structure made in an organic material. The 'Millennium Dome' is made out of this design. Although these butterflies are common, they are becoming harder to identify as the introduced species are very similar but have a more distinctive patterns. There is only one known Butterfly that lives in the Rainforest relying on the Sassafras tree to lay its eggs but it is not common, and endangered if the Rainforest dies, due to climate change, industrial interference and the loss of the biodiversity of the Tasmanian species.
