Beautiful sketch- it's so interesting how your mermaids always seem to transition right at the waterline- why?

To me the mermaids show the two sides of the human condition. There is the side of us that the world sees, and then there is the side that is more truly us. The side that we keep hidden, for we know not if anyone will understand is what people are so quick to judge, and fear in this day and age, so we keep it beneath the surface.
