Painting - Acrylic
Wisconsin Waterfowl Stamp competition finalist I have studied the geese passing through Wisconsin every spring and fall. With all the boisterous activity of the migration, it is the smooth, fluid motion of them gracefully cruising along the calm water that drew me to paint this scene. Canada geese are another one of those big birds that fascinate me. They are large, powerful birds with an attitude, yet they can be so graceful on the water and in flight. There is hardly a sight more overwhelming than the migration in Central Wisconsin. Between the Horicon Marsh and the Mead Wildlife Refuge, Central Wisconsin skies in the spring and fall are filled with continuous patterns of migrating waterfowl. This painting was a Wisconsin Waterfowl Competition Finalist.
