Description:
I was commissioned by the Punta Gorda Historic Mural Society to paint this mural depicting the History and impact of the cattle industry on Florida. The authentic 1903 street scene of Marion Ave in Punta Gorda, Florida is in black and white which shows a typical scene of the cattle being driven down Marion Ave en route to docks where they will be shipped to Cuba. As the cattle come forward they phase into full color symbolic of the horse and cattle bloodline still being encouraged today by cattlemen and the state of Florida. Also, in the top line of clouds there are the images of five popular cowhands from the 1940's.
