Claude Monet once said that in nature, everything is blue, except for the other colors. I have been accused of using too much blue, but it is because I paint direct from nature and complete every canvas on the spot. This composition should have been in oils. It allows for a fluidity which is hard to achieve with synthetic pigment. I obviously love "Cette Vague" because it is not constrained and forced to be anything more than the simple experience of nature.
