Description:

Charley was the rescue dog who was the inspiration for Friends of Animal Control in Sonora, California. I did his portrait as a donation, and then brought it along for the festivities at which it was auctioned off. I loved the playfulness of Charley, totally involved in his idea of what makes Christmas fun. Charley was actually identified as a ridgeback/mastiff/lab mix.

Eileen, I love this painting also. Charley knows how to celebrate Christmas, doesn't he? I can just hear all the noise that is happening in there. I like the background colors, the paper, and the shadows; they all work very well together to bring out the 'star' Charley. The dimensions of Mimi's Peony painting are rather small, 11 x 12 inches. Good job, although I never think of painting as work...just fun.

Looks to me like maybe Charley didn't get what he wanted last year so he's gonna give 'em what for!! Wonderful piece, and having a rescue dog myself, I can truly appreciate both yours and Charley's feelings..
