Chic Harley played football for Ohio State in the years just prior to World War I. Then, he fought in World War I, returned to Ohio State, and played his final year for the Buckeyes. Because the crowds were so huge to see him play, the university decided to build Ohio Stadium...thus Ohio Stadium has been known as the "House that Harley Built."
