Chimayo, a tiny Spanish village in the state of New Mexico. The main attraction in this village is the Santuario de Chimayo. This is one of the houses in this village. Chimayo's other claim to fame are the beautiful wool rugs woven by descendants of the original Spanish settlers to this village hundreds of years ago.
I set this scene against the dark, stormy sky and a full moon rising over the clouds. The last of the sun is setting in the west, casting it's fading light on the old adobe home with it's red Chimayo rug hanging from a rafter. The foliage surrounding the home are chimasas, sometimes called rabbit bush.
The original image had a bald sky so I added some clouds from my files. The moon and bird are images from my files I added to this image. Overlaying all is a texture.
I hope you enjoy this and my other works of art.
