Description
When the book "Painted Ladies" first hit the scene in1978, color schemes were a lot different than present day. We were coming off the wild 60's and early 70's. Some of those early paint jobs looked like a bad acid trip. This particular house at 850 Steiner was originally painted
a hot mustard and terra cotta color. Times have changed and old hippies probably seem like curiosities to their grand children. Built in 1899 as a wedding gift, this house is constructed in what is known as the Queen Anne style. It faces Alamo Square.
