Hi Jo...This is a beautiful painting! It's amazing what you do using pastels! I've tried, but just can't seem to get the hang of it.

Hi Suzanne, thanks for your comment. I do enjoy pastels and have been working with them regularly since 1999 or so. They take practice, just like any other medium

It is great that you can do pastel colors vibrate, I love the contrast of the pinks and greens!

Hi Jo, I love vibrant colors and you have some amazing work. I have just joined recently and have seen so many gifted artists since then that it makes me wonder what I am doing here.

Janine and Susanna, thank you so much for your comments. The complements do seem to give paintings some movement. Thanks for noticing.

Description:

These blooms on Cholla cactus are so beautiful and delicate. Some of these cacti around my hometown of Magdalena, New Mexico, are disappearing. It is wonderful to have an opportunity to paint them in person.
