Representing a symbolic doorway leading the hold city of Mecca, the mihrab shows Muslims the correct direction in which to pray. On the left side of the wall is the mocaic depiction of The Living Jesus Christ with an inscription "Dwelling place (Chora) of the Living" On the right wall is the depiction of Mother Mary with the Child Jesus. The inscription originally was "Dwelling place (Chora) of the Uncontainable".
