Description:

A goddess of the sea, physical beauty, and the afterlife?that?s fairie humor, fairie justice! By bitter experience I understand the hidden magick, that appearances deceive, multiple existences and ways of traveling across dimensions. For I loved a spirit so wanton, so wild, he was driven from Fianna, immoral even by faery standards! Laughing, we fled together and loved freely ?til Manannan?s magical wave swept me home to Fianna. It?s forbidden me now, but sometimes I return to the earthly plane, shapeshifting into every ninth wave, a sea bird, or a comely woman accompanied by three colorful birds. Fed upon magical apples, their soft warbling brings sleep and gentle waves of healing to the sick I sometimes encoutner upon my travels. Text and image copyright Helena Nelson - Reed.
