As some of your already know, while felines are my favourite animals overall, the largest part of my heart is reserved for Clouded Leopards. I've introduced a few of these beautiful subjects that I'm been lucky enough to work with at Khao Kheow Open Zoo (here in Thailand) here in my portfolio; the last two I posted up were of Lai Tai and Sen Lek, male and female mates. This here is Lai Tai again, looking across his enclosure at Sen Lek.
While it is thought that Clouded Leopards do still exist in the, sightings are exceptionally rare (last one I read about was back in 2006), and sadly one of the reasons why it's believed some remain in their natural habitat is because of the frequency of new Clouded Leopard skins that are being sold in market towns on Thailand's northern border with Myanmar (Burma).
There is a growing awareness and concern about this within some parts of Thai society, the big question is, will enough be done to protect Thailand's natural heritage before it's too late for it's dwindling Clouded Leopard population?
Many more of my pictures can be seen over on my website - www.ashley-vincent.com - and if you see one there that you would like to purchase as a print but you do not find it over here in my FAA portfolio, please send me a message or email to let me know the picture title and reference number (both of which you will find under all photos in the galleries on my website) and I will post it up here for you immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: The "Fine Art America" watermark only appears on photo you see here online, it will not appear on any printed version you may chose to order.
