Description

This was painted in the Arreton valley in the centre of the Isle of Wight. It's an area of curving hills and large fields divided by hedgerows. It was a windy spring afternoon and I wanted to catch the fast moving clouds over the valley. At this location the fields and hedgerows really sweep towards the horizon and the distant hills.

Thanks Ion, the sky and clouds are always the first thing i put down in a landscape. my favourite skies are just after a storm when the big rolling cumulus shower clouds drift by.
