Colourful Queenslander Houses On A Steep Hillside
Photograph - Photograph
Colourful Queenslander houses on a steep hillside in Paddington, Brisbane, Australia.
These houses, built on stilts, are, as their name suggests, a Queensland tradition, and are quite different from houses in more southerly, less tropical parts of Australia. Traditionally, they are constructed of wood and have metal roofs.
Paddington, a hilly suburb not far from the centre of Brisbane, is well known for this kind of house.
