The Getty Museum was building by the Oil billionaire J. Paul Getty built this spectacular complex in 1971, on the property of his Malibu ranch house, but, ironically never lived to see it. His fear of flying prevented him from visiting America in his later years. After his death, Getty left a $2 billion endowment, making the center the wealthiest museum in the world.
